Due to the changing Russian distribution market environment - movement towards online interactions with the client and a significant increase in the wholesale business efficiency - the company management decided to launch a project for the transition from an analogue business model to a digital one. It was important for the company to keep a personalized approach to customers and optimize communication with the help of process automation: previously, all interaction with customers, from applications processing to price lists generation and documents exchanging, used to be carried by phone and by mail.
The main project task was to collect information from key company employees about existing business processes (as is), their classification and structuring. The collected data must have formed the basis for further analysis and transition to business automation.
TAD analysts interviewed the customer’s division managers and key employees, prepared descriptions and diagrams of business processes, prepared recommendations for their improvement, in particular, for the e-commerce platform implementation. Also, within the framework of the project, a choice of a solution, on the basis of which the platform will be launched was made.
Business processes classification in accordance with the APQC methodology has been conducted.
A document describing business processes related to marketing, sales, procurement, tendering, warehouse and transport logistics has been prepared and approved.
Flowcharts in BPMN notation have been prepared for each of the business processes.
Gap analysis has been performed, recommendations for further changes in processes and change management algorithm has been provided.
Functional requirements for the future e-commerce platform have been formed.
A prototype of the b2b portal and integration with the accounting system based on a out-of-the-box solution have been configured.
